The nervous and endocrine systems
The nervous system
In this unit we will learn about the coordination and control centers within the nervous and endocrine system.
The unit at the textbook starts with a description of neurons and move on to study the different parts of the human nervous system, like the brain and the spinal cord.
We will study synapse in detail. You can do a review with these simulations: Synapse.mind; Brainu ; Brainu2 . And also try one more simulation, about the reflex act (BBC).
Videos: the nervous system (The Phoenix) , The nervous system (kent) ; Learn online, quiz, label; and sciencehelpdesk with a lot of links and help
You can do a listening with Kids Health and nervous system.
Try this: BBC The nervous system activity
The endocrine system
Finally, we will study the endocrine system. It also regulates our functions and it depends on nervous system signals. We will describe the different hormones and the endocrine glands which secrete them.
You can label our glands here. Blood sugar regulation and diabetes here . Another animation on blood sugar regulation Positive and negative feedback here. Interpreting graphs .Endocrine system video. A Insuline video. Another hormones video .
Sorry, you´re not just my testosterone´s type.
